The West
Capital: Aros
The northernmost province of Sunsphere, known for its frigid climate, rugged terrain, and sparse population. Despite its remote location, it serves as an industrial powerhouse, rich in natural resources and home to the nation's mining operations, heavy manufacturing, and energy production facilities. The residents share a culture of resilience and self-reliance, fostered by Waynorth's rugged environment.
The icy peak of Waynorth's highest point -- Mount Ohnosotall -- features prominently on the flag, as well as an artistic rendering of the brightest star in the sky above Sunsphere, which Sunspherians call 'the Waynorth Star'. The blue and white colours of the flag represent the cold summers and freezing winters of this industrial tundra.
Capital: Trailhead
Previously known as 'New Frontiersland', this province spans the wild western edge of Sunsphere, a vast and largely uncharted region of mountains, valleys, and dense forests. Its rugged terrain deters all but the boldest, attracting a sparse but determined population of prospectors, adventurers, and fortune-seekers hoping to carve out a new life, or strike it rich.
No Frontiersleft has no official flag, given that it is a loose collection of villages and explorers. Instead, each individual village flies some version of a large sheet of cloth with the name written across it, and often also donning the names of the village's residents.
Capital: Graintown
Also known as 'The Long Lands of the Grain Goblins', Sunsphere’s southernmost province is a long and narrow stretch of fertile farmland that produces much of the nation’s grain and staple crops. Rolling fields and patchwork pastures define the landscape, dotted with old mills and quiet villages. The province takes its name from the legendary Grain Goblins—mischievous cryptids said to guard the harvest and play tricks on careless farmers. Though most consider them folklore, the name remains a proud and peculiar part of local identity.
An orange outline of the mythic Grain Goblin takes center stage on this flag, with it's face displaying the province's most important industry and export: grain farming and manufacturing. The gray flag symbolizes that outside of grain and goblins, there just isn't much to see out here -- or maybe that's what the goblins want you to think...
The East
Capital: Domela
Tucked in the cliffs and coves of the northeast coast, Coralwynd is the smallest coastal province by area but easily the most environmentally beautiful. Known for its cliffside vineyards, and eco-friendly plant festivals, it attracts many artists and philosophers seeking inspiration from the sea. Locals are proud, poetic, and quietly rebellious towards the city life along the rest of the coast.
The most northern province on the coast has a predictably quaint flag, featuring the aqua blue of their coastal waters and the official Coralwynd provincial seal, which displays a golden turtle. The 'golden turtle' is a rare sight on the Coralwynd coasts, but is thought to give good luck to those who witness it, and is the provincial animal.
Capital: BBL Bay
A glitzy, high-energy one-city province, Bimboland is the beating heart of Sunsphere’s publicly-funded film and television industry. Public studios and secret celebrity enclaves dominate the city's downtown, while its nightlife and fashion scenes influence trends across the nation.
This simple magenta outfit perfectly suits the glitz & glam of Bimboland, Sunsphere's hub for television and film production, and cosmetic surgery. Just don't let Dr. Bimbo get his hands on the 'Bimboland smile' flag or he might find some wrinkles!
National and provincial capital: Emerald Reach
Sunsphere’s largest trading port and a hub of finance, international diplomacy, and renowned cuisine. Its beach promenades host oddly-placed embassies, high-end boutiques, and the best fine dining restaurants. The province is polished, fast-paced, and known for both opportunity and political scandal.
An elegant seal featuring a shipping vessel, a symbol of one of Port Prosper's most important industries -- international importing and exporting. The gold colour represents the financial importance and wealth that can be found in the coastal province, while the six stars each stand for one of the six independent towns that came together to form Port Prosper 190 years ago.
Capital: San Juno
A jewel of the eastern coast, Ghanista is known for its colorful festivals, rich culinary traditions, and laid-back, sun-drenched lifestyle. A favorite destination for both domestic and international tourists, it blends historic architecture with beachside partying, and its markets, music, and street art scenes are renowned across Sunsphere.
The Ghanistan flag features a fabric pattern known as the 'Ghanistan cloth', a cultural symbol of the province's colorful festivals and rich traditions. The flag's white stripes represent the two most-traveled roads of Ghanista, both of which feature well-visited art & food markets, while the light claret border stripes signify the centuries-long roots of the original people of this area, who commonly used claret dye to paint their front doors.
Capital: Rio Verde
Located in the southeast and once a sovereign territory, New Texas still fiercely preserves its independent spirit. It boasts a unique blend of coastal plains and cowboy culture, where shooting, rodeos, and honky-tonks coexist with shrimp shacks and salt marshes. Country music, barbecue, and a fierce political swagger define its bold personality.
New Texas' distinct and unique flag is no different to their place as Sunsphere's newest province. The golden sun rays signify the province's hot climate and their love of outdoor cooking, while the striking red and blue symbolize their fierce political climate and independence.
