Current Parties

SOLAR

The Socialist Organization for Liberty, Accountability, and Reform, better known as SOLAR, was founded by Joanne Bartlet in the year 235, at the beginning of Sunspherean democracy. SOLAR is the largest left-leaning organisation in the country, and consisted of a joining of the three former organisations of the Moonlight Triumvirate.

The party has operated throughout Sunspherean democracy. Both Bartlet and future Prime Minister Humphrey Appleby served as Opposition leaders during the 1st Parliamentary term. Appleby served as Prime Minister during the 3rd term, followed by Martin Corbett during the 4th term. Corbett was then part of a coalition government with the New Federation party in the 5th term.

SunCorp

The SunCorp Party was founded by Alex from Corporate in the year 235, at the beginning of Sunspherean democracy. SunCorp is the largest enterprise in the nation, operating in a majority of its industries, and has claimed to employ a majority of Sunsphereans under its company umbrella. The party leans into capitalist and libertarian policies, finding itself on Sunsphere's political right wing.

The party has operated on two separate occasions, originally dissolving during the 3rd Parliamentary term before being resurrected as the Official Opposition during the 5th Parliamentary term. The party has never led Government, although it was involved in the Prime Minister's Office during the 1st Parliamentary term.

New Federation Party

The New Federation Party was founded in early 243 at the end of the 4th Parliamentary term, and was the result of a joining of the Federation and Volt parties. The party's core values are listed as democratic accountability, individual dignity, shared prosperity, thoughtful innovation, environmental responsibility, and a dedication to diplomatic relations with other countries. The party lands approximately on the center to center-left of the Sunsphere political spectrum.

After their creation, the party won the 5th and 6th Parliamentary elections and formed Government under the leadership of Gwen Strawberry and Agustin Fernandez-Campbell.

New Texas National Party

The New Texas National Party was founded in the year 245 - at the end of the 5th Parliamentary term - by former Concord Party founder James Mallory-Cheney. The party is a semi-separatist party, supporting policies in favour of greater New Texan autonomy or New Texan separation from Sunsphere.

The party is new to Sunspherean democracy and has never formed Government or Opposition.

Everything Zoomer

Everything Zoomer was founded by Jillian Sidewalk in early 245 at the end of the 5th Parliamentary term.The party's major focus is on youth-focused politics and specifically identifies as anti-warmongering and anti-'big wigs'. The party lands approximately on the center to center-left of the Sunsphere political spectrum.

The party is new to Sunspherean democracy and has never formed Government or Opposition.

Crown Reclamation

The Crown Reclamation Party was founded in the year 245 - at the end of the 5th Parliamentary term - by former New Federation member Richard Crowmont. The party is a monarchist party which supports re-establishment of a Sunspherean monarchy, a mixed economic model, and is moderately nationalist, supporting a formal pledge of allegiance and a conscription proogram.

The party is new to Sunspherean democracy and has never formed Government or Opposition.

Notable Former Parties

Nudists Against Textile Oppression

The Nudists Against Textile Oppression party, better known as NATO, was founded by Reverend Holly J. Christmas in the year 235, at the beginning of Sunspherean democracy. A relatively-small party, it was dedicated to promoting pro-nudism, anti-clothing policies, as well as supporting the trout fishing industry.

The party operated through terms 1 to 5, although was mainly quiet in Parliamentary discourse and rarely voted on issues or legislation. They were a part of the Government during the 2nd term, with Christmas serving as a Minister in Grain Greg's PMO.

The party dissolved prior to the 6th Parliamentary election.

Anti-Parties Party

The Anti-Parties Party was founded by Roy 'Kaimissioner' Callahan in the year 235, at the beginning of Sunspherean democracy. It was dedicated to a dissolution of all political parties on the grounds that they lead to gerrymandering, political gridlock, a blockade of new ideas and solutions to problems, and a barrier to political entry by individuals.

Callahan was the only member of the party, which dissolved during the first Parliamentary term.

Together!

The Together! party was founded by Jurbi Jones in the year 235, at the beginning of Sunspherean democracy. It opposed both the former socialist leadership of the Moonlight days as well as the potential for the unfettered corporate greed of SunCorp to take over the country. It mainly supported liberal and centrist ideals, landing in the center of Sunsphere's political spectrum.

The party formed Government in both the 1st and 2nd Parliamentary elections, first led by Jurbi Jones and then his Deputy Prime Minister Grain Greg. The party dissolved midway through the 2nd term after the departure of Jones and the creation of the new Dark Together! party by Greg.

Diva Party

The Diva Party was founded by Eils in the year 235, at the beginning of Sunspherean democracy. It was a political home for "the girls and the gays, slay, diva, purr, et cetera." While it did not have a consistent political approach, it was mainly focused on supporting greater presence for Bimbolandian politics and was extremely pro-plastic surgery.

The party briefly formed part of the Prime Minister's Office during the 1st Parliamentary term, before dissolving at the term's end.

Council of the Red Path

The Council of the Red Path, better known as just Red Path was founded by Lord Leviticus Cornwall in the year 236 as a communist offshoot of the left-leaning SOLAR party. It supported a full transformation of Sunspherean society into a 'true communist order', rejecting revisionism, bourgeois comfort, and 'liberal half-measures'.

The party left SOLAR over several internal party disputes, mainly over the topic of government-sponsored mating programs. It existed during the 1st and 2nd terms of Parliament before dissolving.

Dark Together!

Dark Together! was founded by Grain Greg during the 2nd Parliamentary term and immediately formed the Prime Minister's Office, as Greg was the Prime Minister at the time of its founding. Influenced by the departure of Jurbi Jones, the introduction of Minister Stork to the party, and Greg's divorce from his wife Darlene, the party took on a mainly gothic political lens -- in their own words: "For those who have seen good men fall apart, good institutions crumble, and good intentions twisted.. and yet still, somehow, still care."

The party continued in government for the remainder of the 2nd term, dissolving before the 3rd Parliamentary election.

Volt

Volt was founded by winemaker Cassian Gale during the 2nd Parliamentary term. The party mainly focused on pro-technological innovation and environmentalism policies and was otherwise in the center of the Sunsphere political spectrum.

The party was part of the Prime Minister's Office during the 3rd Parliamentary term, with Dr. Camille Santos serving as Deputy Prime Minister. During the 4th term, they made up the Official Opposition, with Cassian Gale serving as Leader.

Along with the Federation Party, Volt dissolved after the 4th term to form the New Federation Party.

Christians United for National Traditions

Christians United for National Traditions, better known as C.U.N.T., was founded by Magnolia May Ann Jo Lou Carter before the 3rd Parliamentary election. The party was mainly based in the province of New Texas and stood for Christian family values as well as pro-New Texan policies.

After the dissolution of SunCorp during the 3rd term, the party formed the Official Opposition under leader Robert John Paul Robertson and were loudly outspoken against the SOLAR-Volt coalition government. The party dissolved after the 3rd term as several of its members were said to have fled Sunsphere due to 'degrading family values', although some returned in the 4th Parliamentary term to form B.O.M.B.

Concord Party

The Concord Party was founded by James Mallory-Cheney in the year 239, during the 3rd Parliamentary term. It's major political focus was on policies supporting law enforcement and military spending as a form of tackling crime and 'protecting Sunsphere', as well as being pro-private markets. It was on the right wing of the Sunsphere political spectrum.

The party existed through the 3rd and 4th Parliamentary terms, dissolving before the 5th Parliamentary election when Mallory-Cheney resigned his seat following a failed Vote-of-No-Confidence against the SOLAR government of Martin Corbett.

Cow Grain Alliance

The Cow Grain Alliance was founded in the year 239 by Dr. Thavren Grainweave, during the 3rd Parliamentary term. It's main policies were pro-agriculture, pro-rural, and environmentalist, as well as supporting decentralized federal powers for local governments and local language rights.

The party formed a coalition with the SOLAR government early into the 4th Parliamentary term, with Grainweave serving as a member of the Prime Minister's Office for the remainder of the term. Controversially, the party originally had members in the Official Opposition, then-led by the Volt Party, but was removed from Opposition when Grainweave joined the PMO. The party dissolved after the 4th Parliamentary term, with Grainweave joining the New Federation Party.

Federation Party

The Federation Party was founded by Gwen Strawberry in the year 240, during the 4th Parliamentary term. The party identified as 'hyper-patriotic social democrats' and had three core tenets: democracy, prosperity, and liberty. They were located on the center-left of the Sunsphere political spectrum.

After the 4th Parliamentary term, the party joined together with the Volt party to form the New Federation Party, which went on to form Government in the 5th term with Strawberry leading as Prime Minister.

Bibles Over Modern Blasphemy

Bibles Over Modern Blasphemy, better known as B.O.M.B., was founded in the year 242, during the 4th Parliamentary term, by returning Parliamentarian Robert John Paul Robertson. The party mainly consisted of former members of the 'Christians United for National Traditions' party who returned to Sunsphere and to Parliament midway through the 4th term.

The party was pro-arms manufacturing, specifically focusing on unbanning guns and policies promoting the production of military explosives. They have also occasionally endorsed facets of communist thought, leading to the colloquial term 'BOMBunists' being utilised to identify party members. They never formed Government or Opposition in any term.

The party dissolved after the 5th Parliamentary term.

Other Dissolved Parties

CHAD - The Coalition for Hella Ass and Drugs was a one-member party created by myka in 235 to stand in the 1st Parliamentary election, in which the party received zero official votes. The party was known for having no political stances, besides "don't take us too srsly, we're just here for vibes".

Rabbithorse Mafia - This party was a one-member party created by Ashley in 235 to stand in the 1st Parliamentary election. The party was in support of the common rabbithorse, which would later become the official animal of Sunsphere. The party dissolved after the 1st term.

Pink Dawn - A large political party formed by Ian Michael Furi in early 236 during the 1st Parliamentary term, which was committed to representing "the most unstable people amongst us". While it never ran for an election, its votes had a large impact on the results of the 2nd election results favouring Together! and SunCorp. The party dissolved during the 2nd term.

Birthday Party - A small party in early 237 during the 2nd Parliamentary term which did not lean left or right, but instead was dedicated to the over-celebration of birthdays, whether it was even the person's birthday or not. The party dissolved during the 2nd term.
